Discover Jacki’s new book with reflections on the quiet “nudges” of God, and how letting go of striving can open the door to peace, healing, and trust in His gentle guidance.
Ever had a ‘nudge’ moment when a thought popped into your head and you promptly dismissed it – too busy to contemplate it?
God has a way of ‘nudging’ us, of attempting to guide us to a better way of living, one not driven by pressure, worry, or the need to hold everything together on our own, and in our own strength.
What if we were never meant to carry it all alone? What if letting go is where peace begins?
After almost a lifetime of striving to manage every outcome, staying afloat among painful memories of lived traumatic experiences, I came to a dawning realisation that the life God desires for me, if only I was willing to let go, is far better than I could ever imagine.
Written especially for women carrying past trauma, navigating life’s pressures and questioning their life’s purpose this book is an invitation to pause, notice your own nudges and follow where they lead.
Through reflections inspired by Jesus’ relationship with women, I invite you to explore what it means to listen, let go and trust.
He doesn’t force. He is gentle. He loves you.

A baby boomer, Jacki was born to parents who had lived their teenage years through the devastating effects of World War 2. In contrast, Jacki's youth was experienced through the huge cultural changes brought about by Elvis Presely, The Beatles, Carnaby Street, the advent of the pill, recreational drugs and the second wave of ‘equality for women’- in employment, education and the home. Though not quite the full ‘wild child’, Jacki was always keen to push boundaries; her first job training as a computer programmer in an environment which was then dominated by men. There too she experienced her vulnerability as a woman - being sexually harassed and unable to do or say anything about it.
Jacki married, has three children all now parents themselves. But it wasn’t until the birth of her third child, a daughter, that the destructive effects of the long term sexual and emotional abuse she experienced throughout her childhood became apparent, and set her on a journey that ultimately would last for most of the rest of her life.
This story, first told in her autobiography: - “Because you’re a Woman’, (2010) - a powerful account of her experience of life as a survivor of abuse; as a teenager, wife, mother and grandmother - eventually to be followed by the publication of a second book: - “My Freedom through His Grace”. (2026) a compelling account of her search for the great peace she found in women of faith.
